What are your interests? With car or by public transport?

For food try the pubs in Mortehoe (Chichester Arms in particular) and also Mortehoe Shellfish.

We have a car and also have paid for the bus that runs from the park. We have a 13yr old girl and are wanting a relaxed family weekend. We have never been to Devon but it looks like a beautiful place to visit.

Still not sure what type of eateries you may want. If it is only a weekend there is a resturant, cafes, good take aways and pub meals in Woolacombe, nice fish and chips in Mortehoe just up the road.

Riotstar has mentioned some popular quality places.

Again for just a weekend if the weather is good the beach is lovely, body board or learn to surf.

There is a Dinosaur and Wildlife Park at Combe Martin, not quite like it sounds. It has a wolf pack with resident wolf encounter courses, free flying parrots and snow leopards.

Ilfracombe has coastal boat trips you may see seals, and Victorian Tunnel beaches and a small aquarium of local sealife.

Good suggestions from Sue for you and you may also like to walk down to Rockham beach from Mortehoe, visit Arlington Court (National Trust) which has nice gardens and a carriage museum and Lynmouth (lovely walk down the valley from Watersmeet) and the flood museum.

Good luck with the weather - gone gloomy today so hope the sun will return for you!

Sounds good we love picturesque walks. Raining where I am today so anything better than that will be a bonus.
