As for the best fish and chips in Anstruther, they are available in the best fish and chip shop in Scotland, the Anstruther Fish Bar at the harbour:

ps if you do go down into the government nuclear bunker hidden under a farmhouse, be sure to wrap up warm. You should be able to buy a hot tea or coffee at the underground cafe though. Very interesting place!

Not golf related, but don't miss a trip to some of the other lovely fife coastal villages such as Elie (amazing beach and great pub The Ship Inn overlooking it) and Crail- quaint little harbour and lovely coastal walks, fresh crab landed every morning by small fishing boats.
