We are staying for a week in May
are there any shops in Portpatrick to buy food, drinks papers etc.
are there any takeaways?
In a word, yes! There is a post office and village store in the Main Street, several take aways and some very good restaurants. My favourite is Campbell's restaurant. Stranraer is a just a few minutes away by car, with a fuller range of supermarkets, etc.Edited: 11 January 2014, 10:47
What sort of things can we buy at the village store foodwise.
How big is it?
Are there any fish and chip shops or chinese takeaways in Portpatrick
I believe there is a bakery in Portpatrick .Is that correct?
Do you know directions of Morrisons in Stranraer from Portpatrick
ThankyouEdited: 14 January 2014, 08:27
The Village Store isn't massive, but you can get newspapers, milk and store cupboard staples there.
There's a branch of John Gillespie & Sons which is a Stranraer bakery. They stock a few items from Stranraer butcher Alex Jack in a chiller cabinet.
A fish and chip van called Chips Ahoy is next to the harbour. No Chinese takeaways, although there are several in Stranraer.
For directions to Morrisons in Stranraer, check Google Maps. It's in the centre of town and easy to find.
Many thanks for your help.
