Check out the old motel part of the structure as a part of a historic music tour as well as the civil rights aspect of the site, because this was a location where Black and White musicians and writers helped create the Memphis Sound, the most successful colaboration between the races of that period before the unfortunate events of Dr. King's visit. Many of these people stayed in rooms here and writer/performers such as Wilson Pickett, Steve Cropper, Eddie Floyd, etc. wrote world shaking music as they jammed together. They concurred that when they got together to create, "it was like being in church" with no anomosity, only a common purpose.
