Walking down main st from your hotel to Beale will take15 mins if you walk slowly, it's not a far walk & can be interesting to look at the old buildings either just done up, getting done up, or waiting to get done up, in what was at one time The Street in Memphis with all the big stores etc

The trolley is very handy and inexpensive

There's live music on Beale every night and even some afternoon performances. You can walk from your hotel or take the trolley that runs right down Main. Also, here's a link to a recent discussion on here about the shuttle service offered by the hotel.

While on Beale St, make sure to go to Silky O'Sullivan's early in the evening to hear Barbara Blue. She is an amazing blues singer, and a great entertainer.

Sadly the owner Silky passed away in the last few days. Quite a character

If anyone wants to have a drink in memory of silky at his bar on Beale that would be cool, Irish wakes, that's a party to remember the departed are very up beat, there will be a drink on the bar for silky
