If you like history, the Tennessee State Museum is free. You can learn all about the history of the state and its people, from the early hunter-gatherer types up to current times.

Hi csimon99,

For live bands and dancing at Centennial Park: www.wamb.net/62.html

Fort Negley: nashville.gov/parks/…index.htm

The Warner Parks and Nature Center: www.nashville.gov/parks/locations/warner.htm

Those are a few that I can quickly think of.

There are a couple good resources for free stuff in Nashville floating around the 'net. Here's from the convention & visitors bureau:

...and from the Tennessean newspaper, here's "Ms. Cheap's Guide to Summer", parts 1 and 2

If you park at the Opry Mills shopping center you can walk to the Opryland hotel and walk around inside the beautiful grounds free.

Across from the entrance to the Opryland hotel, is Cooter's Garage, a free museum to the Dukes of Hazzard tv show with cars for photo ops.

To the right of the Opry house is the free Opry museum with Marty Stewart's Nascar car on display for a photo op.

Bass Pro Shop has a huge game fish aquarium to view.
