Planning a long weekend...

After planning our honeymoon, I felt bad that my 11 year old son won't be going with us so we decided to go somewhere over the long Memorial Day weekend. I have looked at websites however, we don't want to go to just museums and things like that. Are there touristy places to go as well? Miniature golf, go-karts? We will have a 10 and 11 year old with us and want to make it a fun weekend.

We usually go to Gatlinburg, just looking for a different place within the same 6 hour drive from Ohio.

Or if anyone has any other ideas close by...

Thanks!!

Hi OhioMom28,

Out near the Opryland Hotel is the Music Valley area. Even though it's a museum, try Cooter's Place. www.cootersplace.com

Grand Old Golf & GoCarts: www.grandoldgolf.net

Wave Country: www.nashville.gov/parks/wave_country.asp

In another part of town is Lane Motor Museum: http://lanemotormuseum.org/

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere: www.nashvillezoo.org

Hopefully this will get you started planning. One last link to check out is Disney's website: http://tinyurl.com/5s27asw

On Music Valley Drive there is Grand Ole Golf, Game Room and Go Kart. There are also some campgrounds on Music Valle drive if you ever considered camping. Some of them have cabins to rent. Music Valley drive is near the Grand Ole Opry.
