Hotel suggestion near Demonbreun for bachelor party

A few of us in our early-mid 30's are looking for a nice hotel on or near Demonbreun. From what I gather that is the area we should be staying in. We would prefer a nice boutique hotel, but it doesn't appear that there are any. Also if you have any suggestions on nice/fun/'interesting restaurants or other activities, they would be more than welcome. We will be there over President's Day weekend. Many thanks.

Are you saying that the Demonbreun strip is where you plan to do your celebrating? That's cool, but there's really not any "nice" hotels ON Demonbreun or the surrounding blocks. There's the Best Western -- a venerable institution in Music City, but not what you're looking for. Also, not sure where you're getting your advice, but just in case there's a mis-communication ... the Demonbreun strip is a good party block, but it's NOT the core tourist area with the honky-tonks. If that's what you are interested in, that's on Broadway downtown, from the river to about 5th Ave.

To stay near Demonbreun, what you want are nearby areas ... Vanderbilt/West End or Downtown. The nearest boutique-style hotels would be Hotel Indigo or Hutton Hotel on West End. Plenty of other nice chain hotels on West End or a few blocks north or south, including a Loews.

If you go downtown, the nicest, most interesting hotel is The Hermitage Hotel. There's also Union Station, but choice of room can affect pleasantness of stay. Lots of other chains downtown as well.

There are many other bachelor / bachelorette party threads on this forum. You might look them up for other ideas.

I would like to stay away from college bars. I was under the impression that Demonbreun was the area where a "older" crowd hangs out. I would however like to be near the honky tonk bars. I guess it wouldn't make sense then to stay near Demonbreun? Thanks

Would it be better to stay downtown or in the West End?

Well ... have you looked at a map? East -to- West you have downtown honky-tonk zone, Demonbreun, Vanderbilt.

Demonbruen gets mixed-age crowds, as do the nicer places in the Vandy area. There are very few strictly "college bars" as Vandy is in the middle of the generally upscale/professional midtown area. Also, some of the hot spots in town that draw a young crowd aren't around Vanderbilt. FYI the Demonbruen bars/restaurants are on the rowdy side compared to Hillsboro Village / Midtown or The Gulch, so you might think about atmosphere/type of libations you want more than age of the crowd. Bound'ry, Patterson House, Tavern are a nice little grouping in midtown. In Hillsboro Village there's Cabana or Bosco's or Jackson's (in order from fancier to laid back). Etc.

If you have cars, these areas are close together; exact proximity of hotel vs revelry spots isn't THAT important. If you only want to walk to/from hotel, then stay downtown and go honky-tonks. Every other combination, you'll probably want to cab it if you are drinking, and it won't be that expensive, esp. splitting fares.
