Opry Land Hotel

We will be in Nashville in December. We are not staying at this Hotel but wanted to go inside to see the Christmas Decorations. Is there a charge to go inside to look around?

No charge to go in, but a steep fee to park in the hotel parking lots. Best option is to park in the lot for Opry Mills mall next door and walk to the nearest hotel entrance. It's about a 1/4 mile walk.

Be aware that traffic can be overwhelming at certain times in the evening and on all the weekends in Dec. If you can plan to visit during the week, you will save yourself some headaches and miss the BIG crowds.

Can you still do that? I'd heard with the reconstruction after the flood, they blocked off that option, but may have heard incorrectly.

The parking lots have been open for almost a year. The mall itself completely reopened months ago.

Right, I knew that (I live here). But I'd read somewhere that they had blocked off the path you used to take to walk from the mall to the hotel.

We were there attending a show at the Grande Ole Opry House this past weekend and walked from the mall parking lot to the hotel itself to do exactly what you would like to do. Certainly worth your time. The hotel is fabulously decorated for Christmas.

The walkway from Opry Mills to the Hotel is open, you walk right past the Gaylord Events Center, which currently houses the ICE display (fee required) and then through the new flood wall that has been constructed around the hotel property then across the road into the Delta section of the hotel (on the other side of the traffic circle). It's about a 5 minute walk +/- depending on how far you park from the events center.

Traffic is HEAVY on weekends - especially from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with only 2 access points off of Briley Parkway (Exits 11 [Opry Mills] and 12 [McGavock Pike - Gaylord Opryland]). You can exit east onto McGavock, turn left on Pennington Bend Rd (at the Waffle House) and follow PBR around to McGavock and then to Opry Mills Drive.
