lodges/cabins outside Nashville?

Hello, and thanks in advance for your help.

My wife, two boys (9 & 11) and myself are heading through Nashville mid-late August. While we're looking forward to visiting the city, we'd like to spend our evenings out in the countryside at some lodge or cabin on one of the lakes or waterways to the east of the city. Any recs? We'll most likely be spending two nights. It'd be great to be able to rent a boat, fish, swim, etc.

Thank you.

There are probably private properties - you might check sites like HomeAway and VBRO for those. I'd recommend, however, looking at one of the many great state parks: http://www.tn.gov/environment/parks/

I know that Nashville Shores has cabins to rent. I don't know much about them, but they look pretty nice. They are on Percy Priest Lake just east of downtown. There is also a water park and Zipline park.
