This Looks Like Fun at Doolywood This Christmas!

"Dollywood announced The Polar Express 4-D Experience will be added to the theme park's Imagination Cinema as part of the park's 19th annual Smoky Mountain Christmas festival starting November 8th and continuing through January 3, 2009."

It has 3D visuals, as well as moisture to simulate snow and the smell of hot chocolate. I'm going, doggone it!

LOL! Sorry, I put "Doolywood" in the title instead of "Dollywood".

That does sound fun!

How much hot chocolate you think they sell?

I told my daughter about this and she was so excited about taking the grandson when we are there in November. However, if you go to the Dollywood site, it says there is a minimum height requirement of 42"! This is a cinema, not a ride. Why the minimum height requirement? Would they allow him in if he sat on her lap?

It's a motion cinema, where the Thunder Road show was. It has motion chairs that you strap into. Surely, it won't be a wrenching "ride".

This new Polar Express show is what convinced my wife to agree to a November trip. Hot dog!

Thanks Bradmac!

Sounds like we will need to pass this time. Grandson won't be quite 2 years old when we go!!! But I'd love to see it.

I believe this ride also has seating that does not move for the disabled, people prone to motion sickness, etc. That way, you could still take the little guy in to watch the movie and still be safe. Not sure if they will allow it, but maybe worth checking into.

Everyone is so much help. Thanks slahta.

I checked the FAQ of ride height requirements on the Dollywood page. It said under 42" may sit in non-motion area if accompanied by someone over 16.

I forgot about the non-motion seating. That's great! My daughter isn't fond of motion chairs, either.

We was going to skip our trip this year, now I have to go. Love the Polar Express, can't wait. I will be like a big kid who keeps getting off the ride and getting right back in line. I was hoping they would have some other new stuff this year for the Christmas season, but this looked like the only one.
