Outdoor Activities Around Pigeon Forge

Hello,

We are 2 families traveling with teens looking for outdoor activities near Pigeon Forge. Since we have cars, we can get just about anywhere. We tend to like adventures such as rafting, tubing, fossil finds, caves, zip-lines, etc.. Have any suggestions?

We have gone rafting and zip-lining and enjoyed both. There are several different companies for both rafting and zip-lining. Next time we go, we are going tubing. Of course, the biggest outdoor activities are in the park, where there are many trails to explore, waterfalls, etc. Read through some of the trip reports on here to see what others have enjoyed. Also check the reviews for rafting, tubing, zip lining, etc.

There are many opportunities for rafting, tubing, zipping, caving, etc. in the area. We always enjoy Smoky Mountain River Rats in Townsend for tubing. http://www.smokymtnriverrat.com/

You might also like Zorb. http://www.zorb.com/zorb/smoky/

It was a lot of fun, even the ride up the hill to to starting point!

Have a great trip!

Forbidden Caverns and Tuchaleechee Caverns are the two places with cave tours that I can think of. Forbidden Caverns is outside of Sevierville and Tuchaleechee Caverns are outside of Townsend. A good place to find info on this and most other things in the are is www.discoverthesmokies.com . I hope that you have a great time in the Smokies.

Smoky Mountain River Rat has a nice tubing/rafting combo: http://www.usaraft.com/pigeon-river/. Tuckaleechee caverns is a lot of fun also and an interesting cave - a part of a large underground system connected to many of the 'sinks' in the area.
