We are wanting to find a really good campground in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge....
The best campground that we have found is Clabough's off Wears Valley Road. It is also the largest campground, they have 2 pools. We have not stayed there for a couple of years though. Kroger is close by groceries. The trolley stops in front, but my boys when they were teenagers would just walk out to the main drag of PF to run around and not wait for the trolley. Too far for me though.
check out river plantion in seviereville. lot of room plenty of family things to do.

Quite a few of the above are located exactly on or near the trolley route. some even stated the trolley came to the front or inside the campground entrance.
I hope you find what you need! Good luck
Have you ever thought about staying in Great Smoky Mountains National Park? Elkmont and Cades Cove are nice. WHile you do not have the luxuries of full hook ups and all, what you get in return is so much more. We tent camp and have a 31 foot travel trailer and my kids love camping in the park. Just a thought.
hi. I thought about staying right in Patriots Park.Pigeon Forge. Right at the end of it there is an R.V. /Campground. There are showers there and if you are not fussy about your privacy, it places you right in the middle of everything. I think everything in that area is pricey but camping is likely cheap. And accommodation's are dirt cheap if you check out the signs and get coupons from the travels brochures.
