When is the Paula Deen Restaurant scheduled to be opened? We are going to the Smokys at the end of September.

I've actually called the Island to find out. I was told around Christmas 2014. I was a bit disappointed because it did not coincide with my vacation plans. It's listed now on the internet as late fall. Well, late fall could be as late as December 21st.

Yes, April 27. When I was in Savannah a few months ago an employee said the Pigeon Forge location was delayed because they decided to totally remodel and expand the building, and were also considering putting in an escalator which delayed things considerably. You can get updates here:

From what i have seen prices are not family friendly. It may be good food but you have to be able to afford it.

It's all you can eat and you order for the table and they bring bowls you pass around.

Breakfast is $15 (kids $9) for 8 dishes to pass around

Lunch is $17 (kids $10) for 2 main dishes and 4 sides, and a choice of desserts

Dinner is $22 (kids $11) for 3 main dishes and 5 sides, and a choice of desserts

I agree it's a bit pricey, but many things are in that area. It's going to depend on the quality of the food. All-you-can-eat will work out better for folks with big appetites.

If the food is great, you don't mind paying that price. My only issue is so many restaurants give such large portions that I can never finish my meal, and when on vacation, it seems we always have take out boxes in the frig. We usually are not fans of "all you can eat", but we will probably go to Paula's Deens at least once.
