If y'all see Veronica the Shrimp Lady, tell her I'm still waiting on her promise of a refund going back to January 2014.

You should check out the KOA campgrounds. We went tent camping in KOA campgrounds many times around Canada and USA and we were very satisfied. The restrooms are always very clean. However, it is more expensive than camping in a state park. The campgrounds are often very close to highways. So, they are usually very easy to find and convenient for traveling but you hear the noise from the highway during the night.

For the Houston area, there is this campground in Montgomery: http://koa.com/campgrounds/lake-conroe/

It is 40 miles from Houston.
