Staying at any of the downtown hotels will suit your purpose as far as seeing Dealy Plaza, Sixth Floor Museum, Dallas Museum of Art, Old Red Museum. We like Springhill Suites in the West End for location but have enjoyed the Hyatt Regency and Adolphus as well. The Magnolia is one we have wanted to try and the Fairmont is very nice. There are often good rates for any of these on the weekends.

If you feel really adventurous, you could ride the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) over to Fort Worth and visit the Cultural District. The Kimbell Art Museum is worth the trip but the Modern, Amon Carter and Cowgirl Museum are all within walking distance of each other. Wonderful variety.

Canton is about 60 miles east of Dallas on I-20. You could make a day trip of it.

Canton only has "first Monday" once a month and that is maybe the best time to go there. Look at their website to see what and when "first Monday" is. Also Canton has several areas of flea markets. Make sure you get to the area you are interested in.

There used to be a good Mexican food restaurant just south of the stop light. You might want to try it.
