Relocating to Dallas

My family is considering relocating to the Dallas area. Can someone recommend a few areas to start our search? We are looking for top notch schools - private and public, upscale shopping and family-oriented neighborhoods. We would possibly like to consider a small hobby farm type property/subdivision. Location should be reasonably accessible to major business areas (not sure where we will work yet) - like within 45 minute commute.

I would recommend you looking into areas in North Dallas as they have nicer neighbourhoods, shopping centres and schools. The more popular and upscale areas tend to be Highland Park, Addison Allen, Plano, The Colony, and Frisco. There are several good school districts in the area including public and private schools. Also there are some smart areas of downtown but as you are a family it is better to stay within the suburbs.
