Well my choice would be to check into a hotel/motel and sleep. However if you do not want to do that Grapevine TX, and the north end of the airport will keep you busy. There is an outlet mall, Bass Pro Shop, Winery, a nice movie place, and lots of places to eat a nice meal, but you will need a car.

Considering de-boarding and the return security and boarding, Grapevine would be a good choice if you do not care to rent a car.

Here's a link to the Grapevine Shuttle which runs a circular around and through Grapevine. Click "Maps and Routes", then click the map to go to full-page map to see interests at each stop . (I do not think this website is viewable on smart-phones, at least an older gen iPhone.) https:/…Default.aspx

This is a link to Grapevine - see links at center of page for shopping, wine tasting rooms, dining. https:/…Default.aspx

If you are interested in the history of the Kennedy assassination, the 6th Floor Museum downtown Dallas is very interesting and worth a visit. Very impressive.

You could take the TRE into Dallas or Ft. Worth, take your pick. Here's the links to info and the schedule.

thanks for the feedback folks! Just arrived to DFW and weather outside doesn't look so hot. decided to hideaway in the Admirals Club. No desire to deal with the 'cold' and 'wet' at the moment.

Rain is supposed to move out around 10am. Check the Grapevine shuttle

If not, Terminal D has some nice restaurants and other interests.
