Rapid Transit in Dallas

I'll be staying in downtown Dallas in July. I'd like to see Dealey Plaza. It looks like there are rapid transit stations in the area. Are these subways? Are they safe & how much do they cost?

With the exception of one track that runs underground for a couple of miles, most tracks are above ground. A local "day" pass is $5.00 which allows unlimited access through 3am the following day on all DART light rail and busses within Dallas county.

While there have been isolated cases of unlawful instances, for the most part, the routes are safe. That said, as with anywhere, eyes and ears should always be aware of their surroundings.

And yes, Dealy Plaza is within a couple of blocks of several different light rail lines (as well as the Trinity Rail Express - commuter rail - to Fort Worth (different fare amount))
