Staying in February

I am planning a 3 night stop over in Fort Worth at the end of February. I am a 64 year old male. What are the 'must do' things I should not miss? Where's the best place/location to stay on a $150 per night type budget? Would I be better staying in Dallas and taking the train over to FW?

Thanks,

Basil

There are several downtown Fort Worth hotels that regularly have rates around $150 (Sheraton and Hilton) but you can usually find others on sale through sites such as Expedia, Kayak, Hotwire. The TownSuites is a fairly new Marriott property that is a good choice for free parking.

There's much to see and do in the Sundance Square and Stockyards areas plus wonderful museums in the Cultural District. Here are some links to get you started.

If you stay in downtown Fort Worth, it's an easy TRE train ride to downtown Dallas (doesn't operate on Sunday) -

Trinity Rail Express (TRE) - http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/

- DART's light rail will get you to selected areas away from downtown - http://www.dart.org/maps/printrailmap.asp

A few blocks from the TRE, Dallas - JFK Sixth Floor Museum - http://www.jfk.org/

Riding the TRE is quite interesting (not exactly scenic) in that you get to see the suburbs and areas between Dallas and FW without fighting the crazy traffic. So convenient!

SO glad you had a good time. Where did you stay? Care to share any details of your adventures? How about restaurants?
