Galveston Beach Hotel

Galveston Beach Hotel

I'm having surgery in Houston on Monday, and my wife and I would like to spend this weekend on the Gulf resting, walking on the beach, and getting mentally and emotionally ready. We've never been to Galveston, so I'd appreciate any recommendations as to a place to stay. Only requirements are that the hotel be on the beach (not the bay) and be relatively nice.

Thanks!

Phil

While no hotels are on the beach, there are many on the Seawall, across the street from the beach. I would look into the Hilton, Holiday Inn Resort, San Luis Resort and Hotel Galvez.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery....and welcome to Houston!

We like the Hilton and San Luis as well. The tower rooms in the Hilton are nice. The Galvez is good if you like a more historical hotel. The Spot is a great place to grab a burger. Away from the beach, Mosquito Cafe has good food.

My vote is for San Luis or the elegant Galvez. Be sure and have one dinner at Gaido's seafood restaurant. It's a Galveston must.

If you have any spare time before or after Galveston, swing over to the Kemah Boardwalk and have lunch:
