Best Limo service from Houston (IAH) to Galveston

Just returned from a Royal Caribbean cruise that left out of Galveston, TX on January 22, 2011. Had to fly into Houston TX, Bush airport. Found the best deal for transportation between the two places to be Lady Bird Limosine! The driver, Susan, was awesome! Met our flight at the airport even after the airline canceled our evening flight and booked us on an earlier one. She even helped load our heavy luggages. There were 4 of us so we split the cost of the approximate 1 hour + trip into Galveston. The cruise line was charging $77 per person each way to use their shuttle. Our cost with Lady Bird Limosine was a flight rate of about $120 each way, not hourly as other limo services were charging. Split 4 ways, the price was great. So great in fact, instead of using the cruise line's shuttle service for the return trip as we had planned, we arranged to use Lady Bird Limosine service for the return trip as well! Again she was there right on time to pick us up on our return trip from Galveston to Houston. I would highly recommend her services

Wonderful to hear of a great transportation option from IAH to Galveston Cruises. Will try to remember this when the next traveller asks.

That sounds great. We are looking into cruising out of Galvenston in May. I will have to check on their current prices.

I have booked Lady Bird Limo for transportation to our hotel in the outer area of Houston. The reviews I have read were good, and having recently returned from San Francisco ,having hired Pleasant Limo due to the great reviews, which we can attest to( excellent service), i am planning on having the same expierience. I will follow up after this trip.

6. Re: Best Limo service from Houston (IAH) to Galveston

We just returned from Galveston and our Mariner of the Seas cruise...

Based on threads on Cruise Critic, we went with Z Limo...

We would NOT likely go with them again...

On the plus side, they were at the airport on time and waiting for us at baggage claim...and they were waiting for us at the pier for the ride home--even though our disembarkation was S L O W ....

But here is the problem:

When we initially booked, it was just the two of us...so we booked a town car at their advertised rate of $85 each way (Hobby to Galveston)...Fabi asked if we would like to add the customary 15% tip...and I responded "yes"...He charged my credit card for $196 (rounding up a half a dollar for the tip)...no problem...

Later, I contacted him to say we needed to change the reservation to a party of four as we had decided to take our kids with us...He said we'd have to change to a "Luxury SUV" as the town car would not be adequate for four...again, no problem...

His advertised rate (on his website) for the SUV round trip was $240...again, no problem...

He put another charge on our credit card for $90...

Okay, doing the math, the change from $170 to $240 plus the "customary 15% tip" should have made the total charge $276...

But the total he charged us was $286 ($196 plus $90)...

But, I was not going to quibble over ten dollars...

So, we arrived at Hobby, met the driver and drove to the Galveston Hilton...After unloading the luggage from the SUV, the driver was clearly looking to me for a tip!! I said, "We paid for everything in advance over the e-mail on the credit card"...

He responded "Not the tip!"...

I told him that yes, we did...

He pulled out his cell phone and showed me his communication from Fabi...It said "Fare paid, credit card, CASH TIP"...

I told him that was wrong...

My family was tired from the trip...They went in to the lobby and checked in while I was forced to stand out in front of the hotel in front of the hotel personnel and other hotel guests and argue with the driver...

I finally said, "look, you are coming back next week to pick us up, right? Go ask Fabi...and I will try to find all of my documentation and, if there was no tip, we will take care of it then"...I left and he left...

At the end of the return trip, he again brought up the tip issue...

But I was prepared...

I used all of my onboard internet time visiting my credit card website, Z Limo's website and digging up the old e-mails...

I put together a file with my credit card statements, Z-Limo's price list and the emails showing the discussion about adding the tip...

An absolute unquestionable case...

The driver suggested that I still tip him and then take it up with Fabi...

I told him that I was not going to be overcharged by $10, forced to pay a duplicate tip...and then have to go back and try to collect it...that HE should take it up with Fabi...I paid my bill (and more)...his collecting his tip was between him and Fabi...

...and I left...

What steams me is that, especially as the "customer" here...and one who paid his bill and tip and extra all way in advance...I should not have been subjected to having to argue with a driver about a tip...and made to look bad to onlookers at my hotel and at the airport...

Both Fabi and his driver were totally out of line...and unprofessional...

They will not get my business again...

I would recommend Action Limo. There were 13 of us and they charged $367 (excluding tip) for each way. The vehicle was comfortable and they provided soft drinks and water.

We were on Mariner of the Seas and returned on 1/6/13. Our flight had been bumped up by the airline to 11AM, so I thought self disembarking would have been no problem and set a pick up time of 7:30. Boy was I wrong. Half the boat must have self disembarked so we actually did not meet our driver until about 8:45 or so. Made it to IAH in 65 minutes in plenty of time for the flight. No discussion of any extra charge or anything like that.

I would definitely use them again.

We engaged Galveston Limousine Service on April 7th, 2013 to travel between the Houston (Hobby) airport area and Galveston pier.

We arrived at Hobby and stayed overnight at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel. At 10 a.m. sharp the next morning or driver, Ron, walked through the lobby doors as scheduled. He took charge of our cruise luggage and escorted us to the waiting GM Suburban to begin the transfer.

The vehicle was immaculate inside and out and very comfortable with 4 adults and all the luggage.

Ron engaged us in conversation and along the way pointed out various aspects of the areas we passed through. As we arrived in the Galveston pier area, he diverted briefly and gave us a very nice 'once over' of the historic downtown district and points of interest, including some of the beautifully restored Victorian-era homes.

On arrival at the pier, Ron knew exactly where to park and within a few moments the luggage was unloaded, a baggage cart was at hand and we were off to begin the embarkation process.

We would definitely recommend Galveston Limousine Service and will use them again anytime we are in the greater Houston area.

Lady Bird Limo is the worst limo service we have ever used (we frequently use drivers for business). They left us standing at the Cruise terminal in Galveston without a ride to Bush airport.

We reserved a car and driver on January 30, 2013 for a Cruise March 24-31. We needed a ride both ways from Houston to Galveston Cruise terminal. The owner of Lady Bird, Susan Hunter, assured us we had guaranteed rides.

When we arrived in Houston on Sunday, March 24 at 1:30 we had to wait 45 minutes for the driver to show up. Consequently, we had ran into a HUGE tour group checking in at Galveston at the same time so we waited in the Cruise line for 1 1/2 hours. We knew this would happen if we were late so we scheduled our flight purposefully to avoid this mess.

On Sunday, March 31 we were held up in US Customs for approximately 15 minutes. Susan Hunter called my cell to tell me she had overbooked the car and driver so they were leaving even though we had already paid for the ride. Since we hadn't ever cruised before we relied on her to tell us how much time it would take to get out of Galveston. She apparently had her driver show up too early then leave without US!

As it turned out we took a cab to Houston with plenty of time to grab lunch and get to the plane.

Best advice: completely avoid this company!
