Deussen park - never been there but seen signs driving down 8 / lake Houston pkwy. Also, I am sure Summer wood have something. On Lake Houston Pkwy between Kingwood and Atascocita, you have the little boardwalk and restaurants (sometimes a band) - right by the bridge. I would think that the Highlands might have something interesting too.

Hi,

Heyyyyyy.....I live in this area, and we have fun! :) But, that being said, there aren't any "sights" out here. It IS more peaceful, being out of the city, and traffic is pretty reasonable (busy from 5pm to 6:30--commuters coming home), and near stores on Saturdays, but not prohibitive.

This is a good place to "base" yourself; we get into a Rockets game or event in Houston in about 30 minutes, easy drive.

There is a great shopping area, in Atascocita--from a large Super Target, Kohl's and Charming Charlie to Home Goods and Palais Royal--there is a great center, with lots of choices. Golf courses are aplenty in the area, and there is a small hotel there, that gets great reviews!

When you are ready for dinner, try Senor Fish: http://www.b4-u-eat.com/eat002.asp?Z=&A=Kingwood-Humble&H=0&N=Senor+Fish&S=N

or El Jalapeno, for home-made Mexican and nice people--great inexpensive margaritas!--I can give you exact addresses, or you can go to : www.b4-u-eat.com:http://www.b4-u-eat.com, for great ideas, locations and reviews for restaurants all over our area!

We do have Deerbrook Mall close by for movies and more shopping. I would say this could be a relaxing, fun visit, if you are looking to shop, eat and drive across the lake; maybe fish a bit.

Please let me know what kind of food y'all like, and I can sugest more!

cc,

Cupcake
