Stafford, TX

Hello,

My husband will be flying to Houston and staying in Stafford, and could use help with travel arrangements. He will be flying out Saturday, 9/24/11 and returning on Tuesday 9/27/11. Would Hobby be the best airport to use? Also, could anyone recommend a moderately priced motel in Stafford for a three-night stay. Thanks.

Ellen R.

You could use either Houston airport (HOU or IAH), whichever has better times/prices.

There is a Homewood Suites and Comfort Suites close to restaurants and just off of Highway 59 and Kirkwood, along Techniplex Drive.

Houston Intercontinental is 28 miles away and on the other side of Houston from Stafford. Could translate into long drive at the wrong time of the day. Hobby is 22 miles, a little closer, but on the same (south) side of Houston. It should be a little better traffic wise.

IAH may be further, but you can drive around, or thru, the city versus driving only thru the city from HOU. Really depends on the time of day. But again, if price is a concern, you may get a much better deal into one airport than the other.

If you don't mind driving from the Galleria area there are great deals on Hotwire and/or Priceline - 4 1/2 stars $85 or 4 stars $67
