Connecting in IAH

When changing planes from Terminal C to Terminal E, do you have to go back through security? We will be arriving on a United flight in terminal C and departing on a Continental flight departing form terminal E, our original schedule gave us 70 minutes to do this and now due to a schedule change we are down to 50 minutes making me a little nervous.

No, no additional security. Ive done 40 minutes between C and E including a pit stop and had time to spare prior to boarding. Just go directly to the gate and don't waste any time.

Tip - there is an air travel forum here on TA that would be more appropriate for this type of question.

50 mts is more than enough time. It can be somewhat of a walk depending on the gate.

Hi,

Agree with the others, you all will probably be fine. Be sure to check with the agent at your arriving gate; they can confirm the gate for your outbound flight. Gates are not assigned until the morning of the flights, and with schedule changes, etc gates can change too.

Try not to stop for anything until you are near your gate. There is quite a bit of food available in Terminal C, so you will have plenty to choose from, if you want a bite to eat.

You can get your boarding passes for both flights, when you check in for your first flight. If they can't issue them for any reason..don't worry...just go to your next gate asap and show them your i.d., and they can be reprinted there.

enjoy your trip!

It will be a long walk and you might be out of breath when you get to the gate, but you'll make it as long as your original flight isn't delayed much.

You will not need to go through security again.

Check your gates right before your trip - alot of the domestic flights are landing/leaving from terminal E also. You may get lucky and be in the same terminal after all.

As others have said, 50 minutes is more than enough time. Once made a 20 minute connection C to E due to a late arriving aircraft. Check with a gate agent upon arrival to be sure your departure gate has not changed and off you go...
