Top tips Glyfada/Vouli?

Hi!

Considering staying 4 nights in Glyfada in August. We are two adults and two children at 8 and 11.

What part of Glyfada/Vouli is best to stay in? A bit concerned about very much noise from trams and traffic, but we can manage some. Any tips for hotel with a good pool area? And a good beach club in same area?

Happy for any suggestions:-)

We are out visiting Hydra, Spetses and Poros before Glyfada. We choose Glyfada to have a lively ending to our vacation with some nice restaurants, hotel with pool, good beach clubs and shopping. Hope to find this in Glyfada...?

Thanks!

We end most of our Greek holidays with a day or two in Glyfada, and have stayed at two hotels that had swimming pools -- the Golden Sun several years ago, and the Sea View last year. Sea View was by far the better of the two -- much nicer rooms and grounds, and an excellent breakfast. Wifi was pricey, though, and occasionally cut out. Our room at the Golden Sun had overlooked the tram line, and we did find the noise somewhat disturbing. Of the two, I would stay at the Sea View again, and recommend it.

There are numerous good beach clubs within reasonable walking distance. I have been to Balux Seaside, which is a very nice spot and has an area for kids on the Asteras beach side of the premises.

There is a lot of shopping a short walk down the road (along the tram line) .... plenty of major chain stores (especially for fashion and accessories) as well as scores of other local retail stores and services. Extensive selection of restaurants, cafes and bars as well.

Our favourite restaurants are To Elliniko, which serves wonderful traditional Greek food at very reasonable prices, along with Tsi Tsi (which you would walk past en route from the hotel to shopping) and Lemoni Grill House. We have been to all three multiple times and have enjoyed every meal, and look forward to going back to at least one of them next time we're in Glyfada (possibly this June).
