It is a good location, where Playa de las Americas blends into Los Cristianos. There are shops and eating places not many minutes walk away.

I have only seen it from outside but it looks like a good place to stay.

Beware of the Asian shops selling cameras, electrical goods, etc. You have more chance of winning the lottery jackpot two weeks running than getting a bargain from them.

In my opinion the Bitacora is in an ideal position, close to beaches ,playa Camison and las vistas, close to a multitude of bars/restaurants, a hundred yards from bus stops ,[turn left at end of road] or free buses to parks [outside Hotel best Tenerife] when you arrive register for Spring hotels loyalty scheme which entitles you to up up to 20% of food and drinks in all spring hotels, Vulcano, Bitacora and Arona Gran I feel sure you will enjoy

Great hotel, location, food etc. you have to pay extra for pool view but it's worth it. They throw in free safe towels etc. you should check out Spring Hotel Group on web you might get a discount, plus they throw in free taxi transfer. If not All Inclusive apply for loyalty card gets you 15% off bar bill at end of holiday.

Does anyone know if men have to wear long trousers in the restaurant at the Bitacora?

Also can anyone suggest any good bars to drink in on an evening who have entertainment on?

Thanks for all your help

Men do have to wear long trousers in dining room for dinner only. Other meals this was not a requirement.

Hi over the road from your hotel is Vulcano hotel, walk down the left hand side of the Vulcano for a couple of minutes you will come to Paz Strip on left side which is a row of bars with entertainment on nightly.
