Seaweed/Tar report

Can anyone give an update on seaweed and/or tar on the beach?

We are headed to Port A on June 16th. Thanks!

sadly its a bad year for seaweed, and summer is the worst time for it. the seaweed started really early this year too - in April.....so, bring a rake so you can clear a spot. the city does try, but it accumulates quickly. Tar is generally not a problem though. Seaweed is gone/less in the fall and the water is still warm then too, ...to me, it is the best time to go!

Headed down for july 4th holiday. Anyone with more eye witness reports on the seaweed. Last July 4th was really bad.

Just returned yesterday(26th), not too bad, more than enough "clean" beach to set up your shade area. Waves were too rough for swimming but good for surfing.

Thanks afa884. We're staying at the SandPiper. Feeling better about the trip.
