We are coming from Page beginning of August (first briefly visiting Horseshoe Bend in the morning). We are staying in Monument Vally View hotel for the night. Leaving to Grand Canyon next morning.
Is it necessary to book a back country tour beforehand? What time best to book? Are tours sometimes cancelled due to whether conditions and if so, is one reimbursed? Will we gain or loose one hour because of the time difference?
Thanks for any help!!!
In addition, I just saw that most back country tours start at 1 pm. Are there non that start e.g. one hour later, so that one is back for the sun set, but allowing to arrive in time from Page? We can do Horseshoe Bend also on a different day.

I also agree that you should book your tour in advance. We used Navajo Spirit Tours, and had a wonderful time. Our guide was Harry. This is the web page with their departure times on there. We paid our guide on the day before we began the tour, so wouldn't have lost money if the tour had been cancelled:
