Are there any breweries that serve beer with more than 4% alcohol?

All of the breweries in Utah produce different beers, some of which are 3.2% by weight (4% by volume) and some greater. Bars in Utah cannot serve beers on tap over 3.2 so those higher alcohol beers are only sold in bottles. Most brew pubs will serve both tap and bottles. Just ask at the particular bar and they can help you.

We have two brew pubs in town that actually brew, plus another that's affiliated but doesn't brew here. We also have a whiskey distillery now, too, which is pretty cool.

The original brew pub in the state is the Wasatch Brew Pub at the top of Main Street. The owner and original developer was the one who successfully lobbied for a change in state laws in the late 80s to permit brew pubs.

Enjoy.

The whole 3.2 vs. high point beer debate is pretty much mood point. The weakness of Utah beer is greatly exaggerated. 3.2 beer is 4% by volume. A 12oz of "regular" beer is = to 14oz of "3.2" beer. High point beer is 4.2% by volume, 3.2 is 4%.

Chances are if you put 2 beers in front of you, one being 4.0 alcohol by volume and the other 4.2, you will not tell a difference.

You can get very drunk in Utah!! :-)

Squatter's is also a well known brewery. Grab a beer and buffalo burger at No Name Saloon.

I totally agree with the Squatter's recommendation for the beer.......For the typical bar atmsphere go to No Name......good times. Don't believe the hype....you can get as drunk in Utah as any other place........you'll be fine....have fun.
