Janauary Park City Ski Trip kinda on a budget! Help!

Don't know where to start. I am planning a trip for 3 college kids and my husband. I am the planner. They would like a ski in/ski out..moderately priced. The trip will take place in early Janaury. I need to make accommedations very soon. Any suggestions? condo/house/hotel rooms!! pls. help.

PS. Is park city better than the canyons? which is better to stay out.

Budget and ski/out don't always go together..........Here are 2 ski in/out hotels to consider right on their respective mountain......maybe a deal on Expedia??

Canyons.......Grand Summitt

PCMR......Marriott Mountainside

If you want budget, check out the Park City Peaks.......it is on the free bus route, the stop is right outside the door..........has a great free buffet breakfast.......and is 3 min. to PCMR, 5 min. to Canyons, 10 min. to DV.....5 min. to downtown........... it also has a great outdoor pool and hot tub. It is my families "go to" budget hotel on our multiple trips a year to Park City......worth checking out for the budget conscious.

As stated in many other topics.......Park City is an awesome ski town, and actually one that ski in/out is not always necessary.......because it has 3 world class resorts within minutes of each on a free bus route........if you want to save money, choose a place that has great access to all 3 resorts and ski a different place each day........ie...Park City Peaks, Hotel Park City, Marriott Summit Watch.....

Have a great trip.......your family will love Park City.

As noted, ski in/out is going to be expensive, no real way around that. The lodging properties noted are all good. Park City Peaks is definitely one of the most economical ways to go and just 5-10 minutes from PCMR and only a few more minutes from Canyons. Location is relatively unattractive but functional.

A few other places to check if you want ski in/out would be Silver Star and Snowflower at PCMR. Both are great, both on the slopes but away from the plaza.

At Canyons, also check Sundial, Silverado and Westgate, all on or near the resort plaza. A Red Pine condo there is an economical way to go and not too far from the slopes, definitely not ski in/out.

Early January is a reasonably decent time to find deals.

Good luck.
