We will be in Bennington in a few days , on our way to Maine for a wedding. We will have some time to explore. Can anyone suggest a nice drive to view foliage.

Go up Route 9 east to Woodford and walk around the state park. Stop at the Chamber of Commerce and pick up a map of the covered bridges and check them out. Take a drive up Route 7A to Arlington or Manchester. Route 7 South is lovely now too. Really any direction you take should be great.

The upper elevations along Rt 9 have seen peak foliage. I'd try going south on Rt 7 into the Williamstown Ma area. Stop at the Apple Barn just south of Bennington for freshly picked apples, awesome cider and donuts, and apple pies. In Williamstown you might want to visit The Clark Museum.
