There are some camp grounds around the lake. The State park , and a pirvite one called Kampersville come to mind [web sites below]

I can't think of any motels around the lake, but it a short drive to Middlebury where you would find many places to stay. The best thing if you aren't into camping is to try to find a Lake side summer camp for rent. You might want to try some of the realators in the area.

VTmom is right - only campgrounds - the 2 mentioned above.

There are lots of private camps right on the lake - I would suggest calling a local realtor (either in Middlebury or Brandon) to see if they can help you find a rental.

Good luck!

You can stay at Dunmore Acres

Here's their website

http://www.dunmoreacres.net

I know the owners Kathy & Neil and they are great people! They would also know of other houses for rent in the area. Both are relators too.

It's not fancy but more of a rustic feel. Each cabin has a kitchen area, bedrooms, and a small bathroom with a shower only, also they do not have tv or air conditioning. The picture on their website isn't what the cabins look like inside, that's a picture of the guest house onsite so just a heads up remember it's a rustic cabin.

If you're looking for a low key place by the lake then this place will work well for you and you'll have a great time. I stayed there for a week when their son got married there and it was a nice break from the "real world".
