Downtown Burlington Hotel

Hi,

We are looking at staying in Burlington for our anniversary in October, we have visited many times before, but this time we would like to get a hotel within walking distance of downtown. Are there any that are recommended?

Thanks for your help

You have 2 choices:

The Courtyard Marriott and the Hilton.

The Courtyard Marriott is newer of the 2. They are located next door to eachother overlooking the lake and a few blocks from Church Street.

IMO you couldn't go wrong with either.

Agree with comments about the 2 hotels. Up the hill a bit, but not too far away, is a B&B called Lang House that is also nice. Depends on what you are looking for. The location of the 2 hotels is a little more central, but there is a regular, free shuttle a block away from Lang House that goes downtown and to the waterfront.

Is there something going on the weekend of Oct. 2nd? I tried to reserve a room at the Hilton and Courtyard, but it wouldn't let me for one night, but would let me for two nights...

foliage season, parent's weekends at local colleges, etc. October is a VERY busy time.

You could try the Sheraton on Williston Road out by the interstate. it's about a mile (maybe a little more) from downtown. Not that pleasant of a walk IMO but do-able. Driving into Burlington is no biggie. Parking is readily available.

The Sheraton is 2-3 miles. A pretty easy taxi ride to downtown, but in a more "interstate off ramp" kind of area. Same locale as the Holiday Inn and the Doubletree in South Burlington.

as mentioned by the destination expert above, the lang house is very nice. we stayed there a few years ago. Another b and b available at that time we visited was the willard, a little further south, also seemed pretty nice.

The Willard Street Inn is very nice, it is however about twice as far from downtown than Lang House thus not as easy a walk but I guess still doable.

Good choice! Ask for a room which overlooks the lake - spectacular sunsets!
