Brewery Tour in Vermont

The wife and I are planning a trip to Burlington in April 2012, primarily as a little getaway. Also planning on hitting up the breweries in Vermont, specifically, Burlington and the surrounding areas. We'll hit the Long Trail Brewery on the way back to NJ.

Anybody have any recommendations on what breweries to hit . Also, the wife is into cheese, so I found a map of Vermont cheese farms to hit. Anybody have any favorites

Any recommendations on restaurants in and around Burlington would be great.

Evening Chuckdcj...

If you don't mind a small detour you could visit the cheese facility at the Calvin Coolidge homestead just down route 100a from the LongTrail brewery and of course a little bit further over is the Harpoon brewery in Windsor.....and at the Norwich inn they rotate 4 brews they only make and sell on the premises.....

Just south of Burlington on RT 7 is MagicHat brewery, free samples and tour, about 15 min drive. A little further south on 7 is Otter Creek brewing, great brew here.

Magic Hat Brewery gives good tours and great samples. Another one of my favorite stops is the Switchback Brewery which is not too far from Magic Hat. Unfortunately, they only provide tours on Saturdays.

There is also Fiddlehead Brewery on Shelburne Road in Shelburne which is new to the VT beer scene.
