Vacations in Vermont and Montreal, Quebec

Hi

I am planning a 10 day vacation on December to Burlington ,Vermont, and I will like to know what is the least expensive ski resort, and affordable places to stay(no more that $175 per room per night).

Also , how far is from Burlington to Montreal???

Can someone help suggesting places to stay????

Thanks

It's probably about a 2 hour drive to Montreal. You'll need a passport.

Are you looking for a place to stay in Burlington? Or Montreal? Or both?

Closest ski resorts in Vermont are Stowe, Smuggler's Notch and Bolton Valley. Stowe is probably the most expensive. I'd check out their websites to see how much tickets are for the time you'll be there.

Jay peak, then head to Montreal from there!

Bolton Valley is "cheaper" and closer, but the skiing is better at Jay.

Agree with VT above. Bolton is the cheapest, probably followed by Jay. Jay (NE of Burlington - rather near the VT/Quebec border) typically has the best natural snow.

The best places to stay in Burlington are the Hilton and Marriott. Both are in the $200/night range, but have corporate discounts... ad perhaps have AAA or other discounts as well. They are THE places to stay in BTV IMHO - nice views, walking distance to all of downtown, yadda yadda...

The drive to Montreal is about 1 hr & 45 min from BTV.

Also agree with VT_Explorer. Jay is a much better ski resort than Bolton. Montreal is 1.5 hours from Burlington VT.
