Comments on our itinerary please

We are coming to Stowe this August with 2 teenagers. Would appreciate if we can get some inputs on our itinerary below:

Day 1

- Segway Tour at Smugglers

- Alphine Slide and Mount Mansfield at Stowe Mountain Resort.

- Rec Path

Day 2

- Trapp family History Tour

- Ben and Jerry Ice Cream Tour

- Rock of Ages Quarry

We are hoping to stay for 3 full days but are short of ideas regarding what to do in the summer. We also find the zip line adventure too expensive.

Thanks.

Add a 3rd day in Burlington, it's only 45 minutes drive from Stowe. The Church Street Marketplace for dining and shopping, there's cruises on the lake, you could go to Shelburne Museum, or the Echo Aquarium on the waterfront.

Those are fairly busy days! When your at Ben & Jerrys, the nearby Cold Hollow Cider Mill is another great tourist stop, for getting local foods and nik-naks.

Burlington is a nice idea if you want another full day. The Spirit of Ethan Allen tour boats do a great ~90 min tour around Lake Champlain, with a good narrative of some geology, history, myths, etc... Church St. is indeed great for walking, restaurants/pubs, and browsing.

There are so many things to do in the summer! In addition to the above, you could go hiking, rent canoes or kayaks, rent bikes or roller blades for the Burlington waterfront Bike Path.

Two teenagers, can bore easily at some of the major tourist locations. I suggest renting kayaks at the waterbury reservoir right outside of Stowe. Hiking in the Notch is pretty cool. Biking, mountain biking, swimming in the local swimming holes, Burlington is fun too!

I highly second the suggestion for Waterbury reservior -- pretty cool hiking within Little River State Park, too (in Waterbury, where the reservior is, close to Stowe). In Stowe - - hike the short, but steep and beautiful Moss Glens Falls. Off the beaten path and gorgeous.
