November ski-ing in Vermont?

My guide book says that Stowe opens up for the ski season mid-November. If I fancy a ski trip for my birthday late November / early December, would anyone recommend Stowe?

We live near Okemo resort (www.okemo.com) they have over 90% snowmaking and also open mid November. The skiing/snowboarding Thanksgiving weekend was probably the best of the whole season. Stowe is further north and facilities are good so should be reliable for good snowboarding that early in the season (probably good time to get great deals on accomodation too!)

Most of the larger mountains are open by mid-November. But be prepared to ski on mostly man made snow - not that there is anything wrong with that:) At that time of year I'll jump on the slopes no matter what! But you might get lucky - we've had some snowly Novembers.

I would recommend Stowe, as well as Okemo:) It's July and already we can't wait to SKI!

Have a great birthday in Vermont!

Hi Snowboarder,

Killington should also be open by the end of November. If you wish to drive further north then you should find similar conditions all along the Green Mountains. Best to check out with Stowe chamber of commerce when they advise guests to try and get on the slopes. However with global warming anything is possible these days!
