Sunday night activities/dinner with kids

We are arriving in Charlottesville with our children on a Sunday (8,9 and 11) around 3:30 in the afternoon. After we check into our B and B, what are some things we could take the kids to do, including fun, local places to eat dinner? We are staying in the UVA area on Main.

i'm not the best person to make suggestions for things to do with kids - one of the few things i could think of (other than just walking with them around campus and the lawn and rotunda) was the ice park (main street arena) on the downtown mall. they routinely have hockey games and things like that you can watch, and they used to have public times for people to go ice skating, but I'm not sure they're still doing that right now. here's an article from the Hook, our local weekly paper, with suggestions for fun things to do in the area over the summer. at least a couple of these seem to be kid friendly:

The downtown mall is a fun place to just walk around. It is a section of Main St. that is closed off to cars and has lots of restaurants/stores.

Christian's Pizza is a favorite with kids. There are a couple of ice cream or gelato shops for after dinner.

They may enjoy walking around the grounds at UVA
