Charlottesville, Virginia Winery

I used to live in C'ville and am bringing my hubby there for the first time next weekend. We'd like to go to a winery for a few hours, but want time to try a few wines, grab a bottle and relax by ourselves taking in the gorgeous scenery. We aren't looking for a long tour and don't want to spend the entire day there. Any suggestions? Oakencroft is closed. Barboursville? Keswick?

Thanks!

Stone Mountain is a beautiful spot especially in the fall and wines aren't bad either. http://stonemountainvineyards.com/

For beautiful scenery, and decent wine, I would consider Veritas or Afton Mountain, both not too far west of Charlottesville.

I agree with 22tango the area around the 81-64 interchange is down right beautiful, Afton Mt Vineyards, Veritas, King Family all are top shelf. check out this website for some ideas http://nelson151.com

Pippen Hill Farm and Winery.

We were fortunate to be invited to a wedding there in April. It was like sitting in the hills of Tuscany! The views are beautiful, the wines are excellent, the food was outstanding! I do not know how it could be any better!!
