Looking to visit Mount Vernon on Mother's Day, what kind of wait times can we expect? Thanks!
If you mean wait time to enter the house, I was there on Christmas (when Mount Vernon is the ony thing in town open for tourists) and the wait time was about 15 minutes.
The only wait time you'll have to deal with is for the house. The line in the summer is quite long with a 45 minute wait or so for much of the day. We've gone several times and just skipped the house.
I'm not sure why you are responding to a thread that is over 5 years old.
And note that procedures for visiting the mansion at Mount Vernon have changed since then--and since you must have last visited. For the past several years, admission to the mansion for the tour is by a timed ticket. You reserve the time of your tour when you buy your admission ticket, either online or at the site. Long gone are the days when you had to stand in line for an hour or so for the next available tour.
