Ko Chang vs. Ko Lanta for early November

My boyfriend and I (late 20s) are going to Thailand (our first time!) during the first two weeks of November. We are spending 4 days in Chiang Mai, and then want to spend the rest of our time (7 days) in the islands.

My question: would you recommend we go to Ko Lanta (+ Ko Ngai/Ko Lipe) or Ko Chang (+ Ko Mak/Ko Kood)?

Thing we're looking for:

-beautiful beaches to relax, read and swim

-clear, clean ocean

-nature activities

-not a super touristy vibe (we don't need a party scene or super modern/fancy accommodations, but are also open to splurging on something really nice for a few nights)

-sun! (from my research, it seems like Ko Lanta might experience more rain and less sun than Ko Chang at the beginning of November)

-not overrun with lots of families and small children

-relatively easy to get to the other islands (ideally we'd do 2-3 islands during the 7 days)

Would love any feedback on which group of islands you'd recommend.

Purely looking at the weather, you are correct. No guarantees, but Koh Chang is likely to be sunnier and dryer than down in the south of Thailand during early November.

Can't help you with comparisons of the islands themselves, sorry.
