Beach bars near Amari or KC Grande

Hi, we are going to Ko Chang for 9 nights as part of our honeymoon in November. We would like a nice hotel with good beach and in the evenings a few bars or restaurants to walk to but nothing too crazy. We would like these to be on the beach rather than along inland roads as want the whole relaxed beach-bar vibe.

Can anyone recommend anywhere that would fit the bill? I was thinking KC Grande as it has some beach bars locally but possibly some other hotels are nicer, like the Amari but open to all suggestions! So...nice hotel, beach and beach bars?

Can't help you with beach bar around KC grand. We stayed at Centara Tropicana which close to Amari. By the way there are some nice resorts same strecht of beach the like or Panviman, The Dewa and another hotel right next to Centara but the name just escape me. There are beach bars, beach hut massage and beach restaurants. During the day you can use their sun bed if purchase food& drinks from them. In the evening the restaurants set up table and chairs on beach where you can sit to have dinners with sand between your toes. The food & drinks are so cheap, very good and fresh.

Hope this help.

There are various beach restaurants on White Sand beach. The ones with most character & best prices are to the north. More laid back atmosphere than the places in the much busier central area of the beach.

We stayed at the KC Grande and it is a lovely resort and there are a lot of beach bars around . The best we thought was the bar at Rock sand beach resort which is about 150 meters up to the right of the resort .They say to get there early to watch the lovely sunsets .Hope you enjoy

KC on White Sand Beach is very placed for all of the life on the beach, tables laid out on the sand at night. To its north, a few hundred metres is the cheaper backpacker area, with some as said above Rock Sand an obvious one but Independent Bo, a more bophemian atmosphere. To the south, you have the famous Sabay Bar, which is a sort of mad dancing cover music band venue which gets very crowded until 2.00am - that's your carzy night, but then there is the tiny Tapas Bar, more laid back, slightly erratic opening and Tantawan, maybe live music, further along again is a good bar/diner.

Near the Emerald Cove, you have in a row, Family Restaurant, Mandalay and Pilot. These are thatched roof, tables on the sand restaurants, fairly cheap and cheerful, with Pilot perhaps the best bar style.

WSB is the by far the busier, lots more choice in beach restaurants and bars etc. But it is not thumping music, so don't worry.

We stayed at KC Grande too and thought the location was perfect, lots of beach bars and restaurants in both directions from the resort, some more lively than others but still nothing too wild. We drove around the whole island on a moped one day, stopping off here and there, some of the larger "nicer" resorts mentioned in this thread just seemed too desserted to us. We were told before going that White Sands was the busiest most touristy area of KC, which whilst true we found it was still very chilled (we usually eat dinner late but had to start eating a bit earlier out here as the first night we headed out at 10pm and it was all starting to close up). Perfect balance if you stay at KC Grande, enjoy! :)
