My husband and I are currently in Nicaragua and were actually abducted yesterday and had everything stolen from us, except our passports. Luckily we are okay and were not hurt. I am writing this so that other travellers will be aware of the trap we fell into, because it was a very dangerous situation. We were travelling on the bus from Granada to Massaya and two very friendly women began talking to us. I was excited to practice my Spanish with them, and didn´t realize that they were being overly friendly. When we got off the bus they suggested we all share a taxi, which sounded like a perfectly good idea. When we got in the car, there were two men in the front, and after about 5 minutes the two men and two women put knives to our throats and kept us for hours while they drove from ATM to ATM with our cards. We feel extremly lucky that we were not hurt, but I don´t think these people would hesistate. Please be very careful. This happened in the middle of the day.
