Where else is like Ile de Re?.

I like visiting different places. I really enjoyed Ile de Re, staying in St. Martin and I am looking for somewhere similar in France with the same sort of vibe but not necessarily the same high prices. It doesn't have to be an island. Any suggestions?

Oleron further south is not as chic as Re but is similar in quaintness and has some wonderful oyster restaurants. Its cheaper to stay and the bridge is toll free.

I would second that. I like the Ile de Ré but thought that the Ile d'Oleron was better. Noirmoutier further north is more open, worth a visit but I wouldn't stay there.

Which village on Ile d'Oleron would you recommend and thanks for the replies. Also, anywhere else in other corners of France that might be similar. Doesn't have to be an island.
