Naxos Beachfront hotel/resort June Family of 5

2 adults and 3 active daughters ages 16, 11, and 10 are planning to visit Naxos for a week in June. This is our first time going to Greece and after researching several islands such as Corfu, Crete, and others, we have decided on the Cycladic islands and stay on Naxos. We want to stay at a place that is directly on the beach and has a pool.We will need to get two rooms or apartment type accomodation, which is fine. We definitely want at least 2 bedrooms. I've read many reviews online and looked at various property websites. I want to stay at a very nice place. My husband thinks we should stay close to the town (so St George Beach) so that we can walk to the restaurants. It looks like Stelida might have a nicer beach but I don't want to be isolated if that is what Stelida is like. We don't mind renting a car but prefer to be where the most activity is. We stayed at a place in Australia and had to walk to the beach everyday. It wasn't that far, but based on that experience, we really prefer a place that is right on the beach. Does any one have an opinion on which of these properties and locations is best for our needs?

Nissaki Beach - on the beach but beach is narrow.Based on reviews, you can just walk a little ways to a wider beach.

Boutique Hotel Glaro - looks lovely but think it might already be sold out.

Then further away from town but looks lovely:

Naxian Collection

Can anyone help us choose? or if you must, throw in another suggestion! Thank you!

Also - I meant to ask about Agios Prokopios - Is it super far from the town? We plan to hang out on the beach most days, then wander around the villages in the afternoons and evening:

Kavos - looks like they have 3 bedrooms.

I thought Kavos was at Stelida, although they may list their location as Agios Prokopios. If you are near the beach in Agios Prokopios you are only about 15 minutes by bus from Naxos Town. Likewise, if you stay at St George Beach you are only 15 minutes by bus from Agios Prokopios, and have an okay beach right at your doorstep.

Agios Prokopios is 6 kms from town.

Kavos is on the top of the Stelida hill. Stelida has no beaches as such besides being a walk downhill to reach Agios Prokopios, and likewise a climb back uphill.

Other options than you have mentioned on St. George beach:

Naxos Resort

Hotel Galaxy

Hotel Spiros

They are all within a couple of minutes walk from the beach.

To give you an idea of the areas:

St. George beach & area

Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna & Plaka beaches and areas

Western beaches

thank you everyone for your quick responses! It sounds like Naxos City - the town will suit us the most. So now I think we will explore accomodations at Naxos Resort Beach Hotel. Thank you for the other hotel suggestions for St George Beach (Galaxy and Spiros).

Just a thought Naxos Resort is back about 75 meters from the beach and has a very nice pool area. Nissaki is directly on the beach but as you note rtght at the far end of the beach so you will have to walk on the beach over to the left about 75 to 100 meters. Nisakki has a pool but not as large as Naxos Resort.

There is lots to do in Naxos town so you have made a good choice to stay at St George beach.
