I guess you chose Lido di Jesolo for the beach.

Apart from that, there's not that much to see...

You can get to Venice by bus + waterbus in some 1h30, or visit the islands (Burano, Torcello) which are a bit closer.

And, despite links provided in reply #1, staying in Lido di Jesolo to visit Lake Garda sounds quite unreasonable to me.

Train journey from Venice to Peschiera is about an hour and a quarter, you could take the ferry from Peschiera to Sirmione to view the lake www.navigazionelaghi.it and return by bus to Peschiera.

Aqualandia water park is worth a visit ( If you're into that sort of thing). There are craft and farmers markets in most of the piazze two or three times a week during summer, school bands, fashion shows. This year there's an exhibition of pickled human bodies ( honestly....) at which 23 people fainted on the first day.! There are dj parties at Capannina beach or Faro beach for the youngsters. Noventa di Piave Designer outlet is worth a visit mcarthurglen.com/en/outlets/italy/mcarthurgl… but if we're talking 'must-see' then basically its got to be Venice. You can get there by bus in about an hour, or by bus then water-bus in about two. My recommendation, if its your first visit, is get the bus as far as Mestre Station and take the train across the bridge. Venice can be hot, crowded, noisy , but it's wonderful. Buy a 12 hour waterbus ticket for just under 20 Eur each and you can hop on-and off as much as you like, visit Murano for the amazing glass, or Burano for the lace. or just cruise from cafe to cafe...

Many thanks for all replies yes this is our first time, I have always wanted to visit Venice so when we saw this good priced holiday thought it would be a chance to have a relaxing break and get to see Venice as well. Hope to get chance to go to Murano as well.

Thanks again all.
