Hi, David,

We are travelling to the Grangefields Oasis on 22 Nov and have been researching how to get there from Malaga Airport without paying the earth for the shuttle.

It seems the cheapest is by train along the coast from Malaga Station to Fuengirolae (between3 to 5 euros), then take a taxi from Fuengiroa Bus Station to the hotel, which is isolated off the beaten track in Mijas Costa .

To get around while there it seems that the only possiblity is to hire a car.

Hope this helps.

Let me know what you suggest after your visit.

You don't need to go into Málaga Station, there's a station at the airport (Aeropuerto!). Trains at 04 and 34 every hour, journey time 35 mins to Fuengie, fare €2.10 each. Aeropuerto Station is easy to find, coming out of Arrivals take the lift up to Departures, go outside and follow the signs. Luggage-friendly apart from a few steps up to the platform itself at the station, tickets from machines at the station (they take €5 and €10 notes if you don't have change).

Lots of cabs always available directly outside Fuengie Station. Cab should be about €20 from there.

Hi Folks

Thanks for the tips. Think we are going to do the train from the airport to Fuengie then do the taxi to Grangefields.

Will let you know the story when we get back Henry

Cheers

David the quickest way is by Taxi but it will cost you about 60 euro, alternate is the shuttle bus (mini bus) from the airport, they will take you straight to Grangefield. I have stayed at Grangefield many times its a good resort but you really need a car to enjoy the area. Grangefield is about 5 mins. drive down to Riviera del Sol. Best restaurants are in the El Zoco complex in Cala Honda. There are also good Restaurants by the Dona Lola

resort complex. Enjoy your stay

Glad you found the public transport so good and easy to use. We'll probably be doing it soon too for the first time so thanks everyone.
