Quite a few Qs so i will fire away (Staying at gavimar)

Going 12th june for 10 nights. 2 Couples and 2 toldlers (7 months and 1 year)

Hotel questions - staying at gavimar

1. How long is the transfer to the hotel (with Jet2) Ive read both 1 hour and 2 hour so was hoping for an accurate reading

2. Regarding the hotel, what is the quality and availability of the food and drink?

3. Does the hotel have a good area to watch football as will be there for 10 days of the world cup?

4. Is there a small kiddly/paddling pool for them?

5. What time does the entertainment go on till, is it any good?

6. What is the alcohol for the all inclusive, local branded or good stuff?

7. Snacks available throughout the day, what are they?

8. Are there any activities at the hotel as I like to keep busy, (like air rifle, volleyball etc..)

ok onto the area...

9. What is the daytime activities like, what is there to do?

10. Ive read there will be world cup games in several bars so that is good, but what the the average price of a beer in the evenings in the local bars

11. I read their is a golf course nearby, anyone idea on prices, distance etc..?

12. The local beach - any idea on prices for hire of sunbeds/brolleys etc..

13. is it worth hiring a car?

14. and the important question, say me and my pal want to leave the girls with the kids for a day, how long and how much will it take to get over to magaluf ;)?

more to come over the next few weeks ;)

Hi,

I will answer what I can but you will be lucky to get them all answered,

You will get some answers by looking at the Mirada web site.

That is as accurate as you will get, could be longer if jet 2 go around other places first.

2. Regarding the hotel, what is the quality and availability of the food and drink?

3. Does the hotel have a good area to watch football as will be there for 10 days of the world cup?

4. Is there a small kiddly/paddling pool for them?

5. What time does the entertainment go on till, is it any good?

All entertainment ends at midnight.

Cala Des Pou cove just across the road, kiddies play areas all local, boat trips from the cove.

10. Ive read there will be world cup games in several bars so that is good, but what the the average price of a beer in the evenings in the local bars

Beer €2.50 to €3 on average for local lager, €3.50 for Fosters in Yates.

11. I read their is a golf course nearby, anyone idea on prices, distance etc..?

Val D,or golf course about a ten min taxi ride, very expensive for club hire, buggy and green fees, expect no change from €100 each, you can get twilight time fees but they are still about €60 each, great course though with stunning views over Porto Colom.

12. The local beach - any idea on prices for hire of sunbeds/brolleys etc..

Last year 2 beds and a brolly for €12

13. is it worth hiring a car?

You can get some short hire deals from the kiosk just across the road from you.

14. and the important question, say me and my pal want to leave the girls with the kids for a day, how long and how much will it take to get over to magaluf ;)?

Taxis do Magaduff for €90 one way but it will cost you a fortune for a divorce, you may not come back with your personal goods I hear.

We stayed there last year, so I'll try to answer as many as possible:

1) already dealt with above

2) the food was fairly good. There wasn't a huge choice, but it was very well presented and refreshed regularly.. The deserts weren't great though, with lots of mouse and frozen cakes.

3) I don't really remember seeing a tv area, but they may well set one up for the football.

4) the smaller pool is around a metre deep, and a decent size

5) the entertainment was usually done by 11pm. It was OK, pretty standard stuff really, with magicians, dancing and reptile shows. Much of this is done by the in-house entertainment team.

6) the drinks are all local, though you can pay to upgrade your all-inclusive to premium brands.

7) snacks are bread, cheese, ham etc. Then at certain times (3pm and 5pm from memory) there would be pastries, then chips, nuggets, and spring rolls.

8) there are different sports available. Including those that you mention.

I think the rest of the questions were dealt with above. Hope that helps.
