Activities for kids

Hi there. Loking at destinations for August with 2 kids (boys aged 16 & 12). Thankfully the eldest is happiest playing sports with his brother so not really looking for kids club or teenager clubs. What we are looking for is a safe environment where they can explore the hotel and grounds and have access to tennis, football pitch (5aside) etc if they want to on their own.

Thinking about Hostasa Somoa - would this fit the bill or is their any other suitable hotels in the resort.

Had several holidays as a teen myself in Cala Millor / Cala Bona many years ago and wondered if the hotels there were better for kids?

We are looking for AI resorts.

Any advice appreciated.

Cost might be a factor.Calas de Mallorca has some of the cheapest AI hotels on the island. The resort is quite isolated but if all you want to do is chill around the hotel and the beach it won't bother you.

There is lots going on for children at Aparthotel Protur Bonaire in Cala Bona and it offers an AI option this summer. But it will cost more than Hotel Samoa.

I stayed in the Samoa for a week last October with my kids (9 girl, 11boy and 15 girl) the hotel complex is fine for kids during the day, swimming pool, 5 a side pitch, organised activities etc., and the two closest beaches are lovely with cliff walks and a couple of points where you can jump off the cliffs into the sea which kept the kids amused for hours but at night the entertainment is quite limited and definitely geared up towards the younger children which might leave two older boys at a bit of a loose end, particularly if you're there for two weeks, although there is a pool table and a small games arcade if they're into that sort of thing.

So although you will get your moneys worth as far as the AI package goes (unlimited food, of a reasonable standard, and drink available 14 hours a day) the resort itself is fairly isolated and quite limited as far as teen entertainment is concerned.
